Could it be? Is there a Verizon iPhone/iPad in our future?

March 31, 2010 by jschneier

Yesterday the Wall Street Journal reported that,
Quote:

Apple Inc. plans to begin producing this year a new iPhone that could allow U.S. phone carriers other than AT&T Inc. to sell the iconic gadget, said people briefed by the company.

Now, I don’t know if we can totally trust these "people briefed by the company," but what we do know is that it appears that Apple is working on a CDMA version of the iPhone. So while a Verizon version of the iPhone is probably not going to be released in the next month, there is a good chance that in the fall one with the release of the iPhone HD, Apple will extend to working with other carriers.

And if the iPhone is offered through Verizon there is a good chance that the iPad will also…..that is some serious speculation but I am hopeful.

There been rumors around but to be more clear yes i pad isn't going to be out with Verizon at all but you can expect tmobile as tm is working out with Apple to provide data plans for i pads. So let's just hope for more easy terms.

iPad Tmobile Data Plans

The Tmobile thing would be cool. Maybe they can add in UMA by just a software upgrade.. Hmmm now that would be rather interesting.
